1st December 2020: RRB NTPC Exam Date Announced!

The Railway Recruitment Board has announced the RRB NTPC Exam Dates. As per the decision of the RRB, the exam is scheduled to be held from 28th December 2020 to March 2021. Aspirants who had applied for the recruitment can now check the official website for more details regarding the exam date. 

24th November 2020: New RRB Tie Breaking Rule Released

The RRB has stated that in the case of multiple candidates scoring the same number of marks, it will adopt a new tie-breaking rule. As per this new rule, the candidate with higher age will be placed above. In case of the same age as well, the alphabetical order of the name will be considered.

RRB NTPC Eligibility Criteria

Those of you who want to apply for the RRB NTPC Recruitment exam 2019-2020 should go through the below-given eligibility criteria to know whether they fulfil the required eligibility or not. 

Nationality

The candidates who wish to apply for the RRB NTPC exam must have either of the following nationality,

  1. A Citizen of India, or
  2. A Subject of Nepal, or
  3. A Subject of Bhutan, or
  4. A Tibetan refugee in India (migrated before 1st January 1962) with the intention of permanent settlement in the country.
  5. An Indian-origin person who has migrated from the following countries with the intention of permanent settlement

  • East African Countries (the United Republic of Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Malawi, Zambia, Zaire, Ethiopia)

Age Limit

The minimum age to apply for the RRB NTPC examination 2019-2020 (Under Graduate posts) is 18 years. The upper age limit is 30 years. There will be relaxations for OBC and SC/ST candidates as well.

You can apply for the RRB NTPC Recruitment for the given posts through online mode. RRBs will activate the online application link on the official website. Follow the below-given steps carefully to avoid any mistakes while filling the online application form.

  • Step 1: Click on the link given above direct link and select on the Zone you are willing to apply for.
  • Step 2: Now click on the link showing New Registration.
  • Step 3: From the drop-down select the Zone for which you want to apply for.
  • Step 4: Fill your Education Qualification details, Community and Bench-marked Disability details. And click on the check availability link option that will show you the post wise vacancies against the zone you are applying for. Proceed to click on the Apply button 
  • Step 5: Now, enter all the details in the RRB NTPC Application form
  • Step 6: Click on the button which shows Click to Continue.
  • Step 7: You will be asked to confirm the details you filled or to edit it in case you have entered any wrong information. Review the details carefully and click on the confirm button after you have verified all the details.
  • Step 8: After this step, you will receive an OTP on your registered Mail ID and Phone Number. Enter the OTP and Captcha carefully then click on Submit.
  • Step 9: Login again using your registration details.
  • Step 10: Select the mode of payment and then proceed to pay via Internet Banking/Credit/Debit Card.
  • Step 11: After successful payment, you will be redirected to the online application page, where you have to fill your preference for the available posts.
  • Step 12: Upload your photograph, signature and certificate of reservation (if applicable) and then submit your application. 
  • Step 13: Take a print out of the same for your future reference. 
  • Step 14: Alternatively, you can visit the official website of RRB.
  • Step 15: Click on the RRB NTPC Apply online link and repeat from step 2 to 13.

RRB NTPC Notification 2019-2020  – Application Fee

Your RRB NTPC application process is not complete unless you fill the required application fee. The RRB NTPC Recruitment Application fee is different for all categories as given below.

  • UR – Rs.500/-
  • SC/ST/Ex-servicemen/Female, PwD/Transgender, Economically Backward class and Minorities – Rs.250/-

Note: RRB will refund the amount of Rs.400 on appearing in 1st Stage CBT for UR candidates. While for candidates belonging to SC/ST, Ex-Servicemen, PwBDs, Female, Transgender, Minorities & Economically Backward Class, an amount of Rs.250 will be refunded duly only deducting bank charges on appearing in 1st stage Computer Based Test.

RRB NTPC Selection Process

The RRB NTPC Recruitment selection process will be based on the following mentioned stages.

  • CBT 1
  • CBT 2
  • Computer-Based Aptitude Test (for ASM & Traffic Assistant) & Skill Test (Typist)
  • Document Verification & Medical Exam

Stage-I Computer Based Test (CBT) 

This stage is common for all notified posts. Note the exam duration, no. of questions from each section, and subjects that will be included in this stage.

Typing Skill Test (TST)

RRB will conduct the typing skill test for the posts such as Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist, Senior Time Keeper, Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist and Junior Time Keeper. 

  • The Typing Skill Test will be qualifying in nature ie.marks obtained in typing skill test shall not be considered for making the merit list.
  • The candidates have to type 30 words per minute (WPM) in English or 25 WPM in Hindi on Personal Computer only without editing tools and spell check facility.

Document Verification (DV)

  • Qualified candidates based on the performance in both 2nd Stage CBT and CBAT(computer-based aptitude test/TST (as applicable), will be called for Document Verification as per their merit and options.

1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT) – Common for all notified posts of this CEN 01/2019.

Following is the exam pattern for 1st stage. Note the no. of questions from each subject, total number of questions and exam duration. Ensure that you are well aware of the CBT-1 paper pattern before planning an exam strategy.

Document Verification (DV):

  • Qualified candidates of 2nd Stage CBT and based on the performance of candidates in both 2nd Stage CBT and CBAT (Computer Based Aptitude Test )/TST(Typing Skill Test) (as applicable), candidates equal to the number of vacancies will be called for Document Verification as per their merit and options.
  • In addition, candidates equal to 50% of the number of vacancies for various posts will also be called for document verification.
